Oscoda is located along US Highway 23, and is approximately 15 miles from Tawas City and East Tawas. From our cottage you can walk for miles in both directions along the sandy beaches of Lake Huron’s shores. There are opportunities for every kind of water sport. You can canoe, kayak and tube the famous AuSable River, take a ride on a Louisiana style paddlewheel boat, play nationally ranked golf courses, hike, bike, ORV, ski and horseback ride on hundreds of miles of Huron National Forest trails. Charter boats leave the marinas around the mouth of the AuSable River to fish in Lake Huron for salmon and trout. River Road, which runs parallel with the beautiful AuSable River, has been designated a National Scenic Byway, and has some of the most breathtaking scenery in Michigan. Enjoy a visit to Lumberman’s Monument and Iargo Springs. Oscoda is home to several special events throughout the year, including “Paul Bunyan Days,” “Art on the Beach”, “Annual Weyerhaeuser AuSable River International Canoe Marathon", “Gagaguwon Traditional Pow Wow”, and “Old Orchard Park Concert Series”, to name a few. Leave all your stress at home while you enjoy your stay at our vacation getaway!
